Frequently Asked Questions
Do children go outside?
Weather permitting, all children go on a daily outing to Stroud Playground. The younger students ride in our KinderVan and the older students walk holding the loops on our walking rope.
Do children nap?
Children nap on ergonomic cots in the classroom. For infants, we follow the infants’ sleep-wake cycle as specified by parents. For toddlers and infants, if we notice that students appear to be tired we offer them a cot. Our general rest time is immediately after lunch which is around 12:30.
Do you require children to be potty trained at a certain age?
We support our families and children wherever they are in the potty training journey. We do not require children to be potty trained at any age and are ready to meet you where you are in your process.
Do you provide meals or snacks?
We provide nutritionally dense snacks throughout the day using whole ingredients rather than processed foods and always buy organic when possible. We aim to provide seasonal produce from around the world such as jackfruit and dragonfruit. The older children also work together to make snacks and baked goods.
Families provide lunch and/or additional snacks.
What about food restrictions or allergies?
We allow no pork or pork byproducts and no shellfish. Other food restrictions are determined by any allergies the children may have. If a child is allergic to peanuts for example, we will ask all parents to help us keep a peanut-free classroom.
How often do you clean the classroom?
The classroom is cleaned regularly throughout the day using household vinegar and other all natural, non-toxic ingredients. A thorough cleaning is also done at the end of each day.
How can we celebrate birthdays in the classroom?
We welcome parents to bring minimally processed treats to share with the students. Additionally, parents can donate a book to the classroom library on their child’s birthday which we will inscribe with a dedication.
